Photo Day

On March 15th we have "Picture Day" where our friend and professional photographer, Fredrick Geiser, comes to our school and creates the most wonderful portraits of our children. All children are included in the class picture and the purchase of photographs is purely voluntary.

CLOTHING:

  1. Pick out the outfit your child is to wear on picture day the night before. Let your child help select what s/he will be wearing. When a student has had a say in the outfit he wears, he will feel good about himself and that positive self-esteem will show in the photograph.
  2. Since the whole student will show in the class photo, care should be taken in selecting the whole outfit, including shoes. Some clothing photographs better than others. Keep these things in mind when selecting an outfit;
  3. Solid colors or simple prints/patterns work best. Avoid solid white and shirts with large graphics or words as they will be 'chopped off' and be distracting in the final photo.
  4. Long/Short sleeve shirts work best. Avoid sleeveless tops as they can be distracting. GROOMING:
  5. Haircuts should be scheduled well in advance, preferably two weeks before picture day.
  6. Girls should style their hair so that it does not hang in their face.
  7. Limit exposure to the sun a few days before the photo shoot so as not to get any sunburn
